I really enjoyed hearing your steel band play. I think it is a great idea to showcase the band so that prospective students can hear what current students are doing.
A high school band director and music teacher, Mr. Rogalski strives to build the best program possible at Glasgow High School in Newark, DE. Building a band and music program from a small core of students, "Mr. R", as he is known to his students, has seen the quality of the G-High bands grow along with the quantity of students.
Graduating from West Chester University with a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education with a minor in Music History in 2004, the bands Mr. Rogalski has conducted have grown to become successful educational ensembles for the students. They are in high demand in the greater Newark, DE community for events and appearances, especially the Red Dragon Marching Band and the unique GHS Steel Band.
Mr. Rogalski brings a set of skills as an arranger and composer to his position as band director. His first arrangement was performed while in 8th grade for a group of students in his school band. Throughout high school and college Mr. Rogalski has built his knowledge of Finale music software and most recently led the marching band at school in a world premier of his march The Battle of Cooch's Bridge for a battlefield memorial cemerony with the Pencader Heritage Association. At the upcoming Spring Concert on May 12th, the GHS Steel Band will play Mr. Rogalski's new arrangements of You Are My Sunshine and Leaving on a Jetplane.
